What is lymphatic drainage massage?
Lymphatic drainage massage is a massage technique that uses very gentle pressure to stimulate the lymph nodes to drain excess fluid. It is beneficial in skin care especially before and after fillers or any facial procedures to reduce swelling time.
How to perform lymphatic drainage massage on your face?
Lymphatic drainage massage is done with gentle pressure in a circular motion, but more like a “J”.
You want to go down the “J” and loop for three (3) times on each spot.
First Motion: Neck
Spot #1: Underneath the ears.
Spot #2: Middle of the neck.
Spot #3: Base of the neck.
Spot #4: Collarbone.
Second Motion: Chin & Jaw
Spot #1: Chin, using all of your fingers except your thumb and pinky.
Spot #2: Right underneath the corner of the mouth.
Spot #3: Jawline.
Spot #4: Underneath the ears.
Spot #5: Middle of the neck.
Spot #6: Base of the neck.
Spot #7: Collarbone.
Third Motion: Under Eye
Spot #1: Underneath the eyes.
Spot #2: Cheekbone, where your cheekbone and the corner of your eye meet.
Spot #3: Right by the ears.
Spot #4: Jawline.
Spot #5: Underneath the ears.
Spot #6: Middle of the neck.
Spot #7: Base of the neck.
Spot #8: Collarbone.
Fourth Motion: Forehead
Spot #1: Forehead, right above your eyebrows.
Spot #2: Temples.
Spot #3: Right by the ears.
Spot #4: Underneath the ears.
Spot #5: Middle of the neck.
Spot #6: Base of the neck.
Spot #7: Collarbone.
Remember, neck goes first, chin and jaw second, under eye third, and forehead fourth.
You can do it as many times as you feel that you need. But just make sure you bring it all the way down to the collarbone position where your body can flush it out into your system.
